How do I study with flashcards?
There are 3 classic study modes - see cards' front sides first, back sides first, or mixed (picked randomly front or back). If your browser supports it, you also have 2 hear modes in which the cards are read aloud in the voice you choose from the ones available on your device.
Click any of the Study buttons to start. A randomly selected card from your Study list is displayed. You either see or hear its front or back side text according to the chosen study mode. Try to recall what's on the other side of the card before you flip it over. Depending on whether you guessed correctly or not, flag the card so it goes either to the Know It list or stays in the Study list. Repeat.
You can stop study sessions at any time. The Study and Know It lists are persisted (even if you reload this page) so you can continue later where you left off.
Once the Study list is empty, you've studied all the cards. Yay!
How do I make flashcards?
Just type your flashcards in the Study list box. For each flashcard, type the text for both front and back sides on the same line separated by a comma sign (,). One flashcard per line.
Example:
1+1=?,2 Two plus two,Four First letter in the alphabet,A
You can also load flashcards from a CSV file.
Why two lists?
All flashcards which you don't know (well) yet go in the Study list. When you start a study session, you'll be shown cards from the Study list only.
When you flag the cards you know during study sessions, those are moved automatically to the Know It list so that they are not shown again.
How do I use CSV files?
You can load flashcards from a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file or store all flashcards to a CSV file.
Each line in the file defines a single flash card. Front and back side texts are separated by the first occurrence of a comma sign (,). If no comma sign is found then the whole line is used as the text for both front and back sides of the card.
An empty line is the delimiter between Study and Know It lists. If no empty lines are found then all lines are added to the Study list.
Saving flashcards to a CSV file follows the same rules.
What about Pastebin.com?
You can load flashcards lists directly from public pastes from Pastebin.com by clicking the Load button above and entering the Pastebin URL (e.g. https://pastebin.com/qSy6JcgV). Same format as the one described for CSV files.
Also, you can specify Pastebin URLs in the address bar thus constructing links you can share with you friends or on social media like this:
https://nobsutils.com/flashcards?https://pastebin.com/qSy6JcgV
Why are the Study Hear buttons disabled?
This is because your browser does not support voice synthesis.
Are my flashcards stored or uploaded in the cloud?
No! Any flashcards you enter or load from a file stay on your device.
Any other tips?
Don't waste your time, go make those flashcards and study!
